European Director of Business Development (m/w/d)

At ProJect Pharmaceutics, we take a collaborative, client-centric approach, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories and expert teams, enabling end-to-end drug product development from preclinical to commercial stages meeting unique project requirements.

As we expand our go-to-market activities, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account & Business Development Manager. This role serves as the key interface between clients and scientific teams, combining relationship management, project coordination, and business development. Responsibilities include supporting project execution, contributing to proposals and contracts, and representing the company at industry events.

The ideal candidate has a life sciences or pharmaceutical background, strong communication skills, and a passion for driving project success and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for potential clients, building strong initial relationships.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events, engaging potential clients and partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry organizations.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Facilitate negotiations and contract discussions with potential clients and partners.
  • Develop and manage marketing initiatives, including LinkedIn campaigns and creation of educational content (focused on providing value rather than generic promotion).
  • Support Client Data Agreements (CDAs) and related administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D to ensure alignment of business objectives and smooth execution of tasks
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Monitor and report on business development performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Assist in planning and launching a new corporate identity, positioning and company website.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of the European pharmaceutical market and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create educational and impactful marketing content.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including attendance at trade shows and client meetings.
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
